The Triggering Events
The main cause for the French revolution was when king Louis XVI raised the taxes because the king would always spend money on his self and there were poor harvests as well as cost wars going on and debt problems which lead to bankruptcy. He first brought up the price of flour which lead some people into hunger and made the third estate poor. Then the third estate started to get high taxes because of their poor harvesting. They started to protest and wanted to get rid of the estates because of how much the taxes were unfair. As they protested, the king shut the doors on the third estate so they went into a near by room and had done the famous tennis court oath. They then took an oath to never separate until a written constitution had been established for France.
